The Money Fix

THE MONEY FIX examines economic patterning in both the human and the natural worlds, and through this lens we learn how we can empower ourselves by redesigning the lifeblood of the economy at the community level. The film documents three types of alternative money systems, all of which help solve economic problems for the communities in which they operate.
Community Connect

Community Connect facilitates the creation and development of complementary currency initiatives that contribute to community sustainability. It is through common unity that economic vitality is strengthened, enhancing prosperity and a thriving social structure.
The Capital Institute

The Capital Institute is a non-partisan, transdisciplinary think tank, founded in 2009 by former JPMorgan Managing Director John Fullerton.
The mission is to stimulate the interaction and action of leaders, scholars, and society by raising awareness of the need to harness the power of capital and markets to advance a just, resilient, and sustainable economic system that will improve lives and preserve the planet.
Local Capital Summit

As banks fail and lending tightens, there is actually less money in circulation. This is not just an issue of consumer confidence; people can’t spend money that they don’t have. At the same time, we taxpayers are writing trillion dollar checks to huge corporations and irresponsible banks.
While massive corporate profits left our towns and fell into the hands of a few, small businesses have created 80% of the new jobs in the past 10 years. These businesses, which give our communities their unique character, are hit the hardest. We are seeing too many close their doors.
